Am I sad or depressed? How do I know steps to get rid of them?

It’s common knowledge that the human being has a complex combination which is as harder to be understood.
Smiling, laughing, crying, being upset … We’re going through a lot of feelings in our daily life, but what if we couldn’t control them!? This is what we call “mental illness” or “mental disorder”.
To analyze this topic, we can spend the whole year or maybe all our life talking about it; mentioning its symptoms, reasons, consequences, and learning self-healing and how to deal with it. But to make it more specific and in brief; let us talk a little bit about the most common mental disease the majority of people suffer from through the world:

Depression !!

“Truly, it is the darkness that one finds the light ..so when we are in sorrow, then this light is nearest of all to us”

Meister Eckhart

It has been scientifically proven that depression is a period of sadness that affects a person due to some problems such as: losing a job, the death of a loved one, or maybe the failure in an exam.
But most importantly, we should make the difference between the two concepts. I’m sad or in grief doesn’t mean necessarily that I am depressed and need to be examined.
Honestly! I’m not here to tell you about depression’s symptoms, or give you pragmatic advice to deal with it, because I am sure that you’ll find them out wherever you go. But you’re here to enjoy then get experience from what you’re going to hear.
A happy heart is better than a full purse:
A lot of people while following a wealthy person on social media hope to get his wealth one day, assuming that he’s living in paradise with his millions of dollars and his tens of castles and palaces.
But the truth is different: Happiness can never be bought.
In other words; the majority of influencers are suffering from depression or other mental conditions in real life.

For instance: Let us talk about the hidden depression, which is not noticed. What do you think about a person who is posting and sharing his blissful life (as he pretends) every day? giving advice about how to be successful and positive, and how to balance between your personal and professional life? Normally, you’ll expect that he is happy, but actually, he’s not!!
This latter knows how to hide his real emotions, he covers his depression behind seemingly positive mood and posts. There’s also the fact of being talented in giving strong excuses to stay at home and avoid real interactions. although, all of that is just the tip of the iceberg because what you see is just a poker face! To say it otherwise, when we think that we know someone we still don’t know him at all.
Real depressed people have many more medical problems due to depression, such as heart pain, tension in their hands, and breathing difficulties. Furthermore, sometimes, they can’t cope with routine tasks, feel tired, and forget important information. And concerning reactions; they don’t feel emotional pain, they agree with everyone without arguing, plus the fact of stopping expressing desires.

“Man is fond of counting his troubles, but he does not count his joys …If he counted them up as he ought to, he would see that every lot has enough happiness provided for it.”

Fyodor Dostoevsky-

To sum it up, it’s up to you to choose either living with this condition your whole life or summon the strength of seeking professional advice and care.
But before leaving, I’d like to share with you some inspiring words I’ve heard from “Jay Shetty”: People think depression is sadness, people think depression is crying, people think depression is being quiet. But, depression is when we smile, but we want to cry, depression is when we talk, but we want to be quiet, depression is when we pretend that’s we’re
happy, but we’re not.

Depression can have roots from some of our daily habits. They’re particularly bad habits that can turn even worse if they lead to depression. One of these habits is overthinking, which we will talk about in one of our next articles.
